Simon & Schuster Principles Life and Work, Principles Your Guided Journal 2 Books Collection SetPrinciples: Life and Work, Principles Your Guided Journal 2 Books Collection Set Principles: Life and Work In Principles, Dalio shares what he’s learned over the course of his remarkable career. He argues that life, management, economics, and investing can all be systemized into rules and understood like machines. The book’s hundreds of practical lessons, which are built around his cornerstones of “radical truth” and “radical transparency,” include Dalio laying out the most effective ways for individuals and organizations to make decisions, approach challenges, and build strong teams. He also describes the innovative tools the firm uses to bring an idea meritocracy to life, such as creating “baseball cards” for all employees that distill their strengths and weaknesses, and employing computerized decision-making systems to make believability-weighted decisions. While the book brims with novel ideas for organizations and institutions, Principles also offers a clear, straightforward approach to decision-making that Dalio believes anyone can apply, no matter what they’re seeking to achieve. Principles: Your Guided Journal: With this new journal, Dalio takes his goal one step further to help readers reflect on and record their own principles. He does that by providing a series of guided exercises and questions for reflecting on what you’re like, what you value, and what principles will best help you achieve your goals. These exercises draw from key concepts in the original Principles book, including: 1. How to identify your strengths, weaknesses, motivations and preferences 2. How to use the 'five-step process' to achieve your goals 3. How to become both 'assertive and open-minded at the same time' 4. How does half-life work?
Half-life is the time it takes for half of a substance to decay or transform into another substance. This concept is commonly used in the context of radioactive decay, where a radioactive substance decays over time. For example, if a radioactive substance has a half-life of 10 years, then after 10 years, half of the substance will have decayed into a different element. After another 10 years, half of the remaining substance will have decayed, and so on. Simon & Schuster Principles: Life and Work by Ray Dalio#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER * 5 MILLION COPIES SOLD “Significant...The book is both instructive and surprisingly moving.” —The New York Times Ray Dalio, one of the world’s most successful investors and entrepreneurs, shares the unconventional principles that he’s developed, refined, and used over the past forty years to create unique results in both life and business—and which any person or organization can adopt to help achieve their goals. In 1975, Ray Dalio founded an investment firm, Bridgewater Associates, out of his two-bedroom apartment in New York City. Forty years later, Bridgewater has made more money for its clients than any other hedge fund in history and grown into the fifth most important private company in the United States, according to Fortune magazine. Dalio himself has been named to Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Along the way, Dalio discovered a set of unique principles that have led to Bridgewater’s exceptionally effective culture, which he describes as “an idea meritocracy that strives to achieve meaningful work and meaningful relationships through radical transparency.” It is these principles, and not anything special about Dalio—who grew up an ordinary kid in a middle-class Long Island neighborhood—that he believes are the reason behind his success. In Principles, Dalio shares what he’s learned over the course of his remarkable career. Here, from a man who has been called both “the Steve Jobs of investing” and “the philosopher king of the financial universe” (CIO magazine), is a rare opportunity to gain proven advice unlike anything you’ll find in the conventional business press.15,99 £*Shipping: 2,99 £Secure redirect to the provider

Gretsch Synchromatic 200 Sunburst c.1940s Vintage Archtop Acoustic Guitar Vintage Sunburst - RefurbishedThis is an incredible Gretsch Synchromatic 200 in Sunburst finish. This model was introduced by the original incarnation of Gretsch in 1939. The company was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1883 by Friedrich Gretsch, initially as a drum manufacturer. The Synchromatic 200 was introduced in 1939 and discontinued by 1946. The serial number of this instrument is 3 digits handwritten on the inside of the body, indicating that it was made before Gretsch changed their serial number system in 1945/6. The Synchromatic 200 is an archtop acoustic guitar which features a set-neck construction comprising a Spruce top, Maple back and sides, Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard inlaid with Abalone blocks. The body is double-bound, with cateye soundholes, 'stairstep' Rosewood bridge, gold 'Harp' tailpiece & gold open-geared tuning machines. This particular instrument has been fitted with an Artec MHPA95-GD Mini Humbucker, which is wired directly to a 3.5mm output jack mounted discreetly under the pickguard. The Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which can be described as Asymmetrical; considerably shallower on the treble side and deeper on the bass side. This is certainly a unique playing experience when compared with modern guitars, and provides the Synchromatic 200 with a sense of exclusivity, which along with the playwear that the neck has developed over the years is very inspiring in the hands. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, with a 10" radius that is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The large Abalone block inlays add a touch of luxury, reminding the player of Gretsch's golden age. The acoustic voice of the Synchromatic 200 is distinctly archtop, with a dark and mellow tone that is perfect for jazz playing. Thanks to the large stature of the body and the twin large soundholes, the instrument projects very well and produces plenty of volume. The addition of the Artec MHPA95-GD Mini Humbucker adds the versatility required for live and recording situations, and despite its lack of on-board control produces a rich, mellow tone which is highly usable in a wide range of musical contexts. This is a beautifully preserved example of Gretsch's early work, which remains beautifully practical and playable today.3230,00 £*Shipping: 0,00 £Secure redirect to the provider
